Back for our 7th year, Saturday, September 3rd, at 8am, this year’s Golf outing is once again at Valley View Golf Club in Lancaster, OH. This year the format has changed and improved! We are excited to offer numerous ways to win cash and prizes. We have added a cash prize purse worth over $2,000.

We are the only outing in town that offers mulligans and skins games included in the $79/person registration fee. Click here to download a flier to post or share with friends. Additionally, we will draw from all participants for the 4th and 5th place winnings, so you don’t have to be a great golfer to go home with some money.

As an added bonus, breakfast and lunch is provided and there are both skill and luck prizes throughout the tournament. Any hole in one will get a prize as well as two Long Drive competitions, Two Long putt holes, and two Closest to Pin challenges. All of these are also included in the registration fee. Geneva Hills is proud to announce that our Executive Director, Geoff Burns, has written a book fifty years in the making about Geneva Hills and the struggles and triumphs over the last decade. Following a successful series of interviews with various television, radio, and print media, the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce will host Geoff to have a book signing event at the Chamber of Commerce building in downtown Lancaster on Friday, August 12 from 11am – 1pm.

Geoffrey W. Burns, MBA resides in Lancaster, Ohio and continues his missionary work to this day. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves spending time with his wife, Kristy; two boys, Liam and Zeke; and their dog Samson. Geoff received his B.S. in Environmental Science from Valparaiso University in Indiana and his MBA in international business from Salem International University in West Virginia. Geoff is the owner and principal consultant for Burns & Associates, a consulting firm in Lancaster,OH, which specializes in non-profit organizations and small business. June 11, 2011 – National Get Outside Day

In conjunction with national get outside day, Saturday, June 11, Geneva Hills will host a guided hike at 9am to get us outside and on the trails. Our focus for the hike will be on geology of the local area and how to minimize our impact on the environment when we enter it.

The Day will begin with a free guided hike led by Mike Sutter, which will last between 1-1.5hrs. We will discuss various landform features and how they are unique. You will hear about how Geneva Hills is an ecological gem in central Ohio and how you can help protect our resources.

Geneva Hills promotes a variation of Leave no Trace (LNT) which seeks to preserve our forests and green spaces for all generations. The concept is simple. Take only pictures, leave only footprints.

After a morning learning about the geology of Geneva Hills, stay and fish in one of our two lakes, or go for a swim in our public pool. We even have canoes and kayaks available to take on the lake. There is no need to RSVP for this event. We simply ask that you participate in the National Get Outside day.

June 3, 2011 – Camp Open House

Friday, June 3, from 4pm to 7pm Geneva Hills will host an open house with a meet and greet for campers, parents and staff at the Welcome Center. Attendees will receive special discounts if they register for camp during the open house.

In addition to the discounts, Geneva Hills will provide hotdogs and beverages while you get the chance to learn about the summer camp experience. For your convenience, we have four weeks of back-to-back day camps for K-2.

May 15th, 2011- Open House & Work Day

As you may have noticed, It has been rainy this April. We had planned to host an open house and Beidler house clean up day, but due to the weather, we were forced to postpone the festivities until later. Well, we know when later is. May 14, 2011 we will attempt to host the open house and final camp clean up day for the spring of 2011.

In addition to the work projects, Geneva Hills will be open to the public for fishing, geocaching, and hiking. We will also be continuing to work on the Stuart Depp Memorial Bike Trail.

Cinco de Mayo Open House

Thursday, May 5, 2011, otherwise known as Cinco de Mayo, Geneva Hills will host an open house reception at the Fairfield County Foundation from

6pm- 8pm. Enjoy Hors d ‘ oeuvres and festive drinks as you chat with friends, meet new faces, and listen to acoustic guitar tunes.

Come learn about the life long benefits of outdoor education, summer camps, and the environmental and community projects for kids and adults alike that Geneva Hills is leading. Some projects you may not even be aware of. Come see what so many people are talking about and if you are interested, find out how you can be involved.
